Description
This 2.24-carat Coober Pedy opal is an elongated freeform, 24 by 5mm, carrying its play-of-color along a slender, sinuous line. The South Australian fields it comes from are known for opals that flash a full shifting spectrum, and this slim stone lets that color travel its length, never resting on one shade. A delicate 0.03-carat diamond, graded VS1 in G color, marks one end with a quiet sparkle, all set in 14K yellow gold. As with every Richard Lewis design, this piece exists only once.
Handcrafted in the Santa Rosa studio, this pendant hangs as a graceful vertical accent, its narrow profile flattering against the collarbone. To keep the opal vivid, give it the gentle treatment any fine natural stone deserves: no ultrasonic cleaners, no hard knocks, and an occasional wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
