Description
This 2.66-carat opal comes from the Lambina fields of South Australia, a region known among collectors for its bright play-of-color opals. It’s cut as a broad pear, 18 by 10 millimeters, which gives the color a wide canvas to shift across, moving through its own changing spectrum with each tilt of the wrist. A single 0.05-carat diamond, graded VS1 in G color, sits beside it as a clean accent, and the pairing is cradled in warm 14K yellow gold. Richard Lewis handcrafts each piece, so this opal is one of a kind.
The pendant wears as a substantial focal piece, its full pear shape giving the Lambina color plenty of room. Like all natural opals, it stays at its best with a little care. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and sharp knocks, and simply wipe it with a soft, damp cloth to keep its brilliance.
