Description
A 4.35-carat Australian opal anchors this pendant, drawn from the Coober Pedy fields of South Australia. Cut as a long pear drop, 30 by 7 millimeters, it stretches the eye downward and flashes a shifting spectrum that changes with every turn of the wrist. A single diamond accent catches the light beside it, set in warm 14K yellow gold that frames the stone’s color. Richard Lewis made it by hand, and this opal pendant is one of a kind, meant to hang as a slender focal piece against the throat.
No two of Richard’s opals behave alike, and this elongated drop carries its own distinct rhythm of fire. Natural opal rewards a little gentle attention. Keep it away from hard knocks and ultrasonic cleaners, and wipe it now and then with a soft, damp cloth to keep the color bright for years to come.
