A larger pearl has its own kind of richness, and this ring delivers it with a round 12mm natural abalone pearl set in sterling silver. The stone comes from the cold Pacific off Mendocino, California, where abalone pearls develop their swirl of greens, blues and silvers. No two share the same pattern. Richard Lewis handcrafts each ring one at a time in his Santa Rosa workshop, which makes this one genuinely one of a kind.

The understated silver setting keeps the focus on the 12mm pearl, whose iridescence shifts and glints with every turn of the hand. It’s available in US sizes 5.25 through 9.25. Abalone pearls are organic and relatively soft, so treat yours kindly. Keep it away from perfume, hairspray and household chemicals, skip the ultrasonic cleaner, and store it separately from harder stones to keep its surface intact.
