Abalone Pearl Ring 13mm in Sterling Silver

The 13mm round pearl in this ring came from the chilly Pacific off Mendocino, California. Its surface shifts through blue, green and silver depending on the angle, the natural iridescence that sets abalone apart from cultured pearls. Richard Lewis makes each piece by hand in his Santa Rosa workshop, and he kept the sterling silver setting clean and modern so the focus stays on the stone.

Abalone pearls form one at a time in the wild, so this color pattern exists on no other gem and the ring is one of a kind. It’s made in solid sterling silver and comes in US ring sizes 5.25 through 9.25. Abalone is an organic, fairly soft gem, so it wants gentle handling. Avoid perfume, hairspray and household chemicals, never use an ultrasonic cleaner, and keep it stored away from harder stones.
