Description

This sterling silver ring holds a 2.67-carat Australian opal from Coober Pedy, cut as a slender, elongated oval that measures 17.5 by 7.4mm. The unusually long shape gives the stone real presence on the hand, and its surface moves through its own shifting spectrum of color as the light and your hand change. Bright sterling silver frames the gem in a clean setting that lets the opal lead.

Richard Lewis handcrafts each piece in his Santa Rosa studio, so no two are exactly alike and this ring will never be repeated. It comes in US ring sizes 5.25 to 9.25. Opal is relatively soft, so a little care keeps it bright: avoid hard knocks and ultrasonic cleaners, and just wipe it with a soft, damp cloth.
