A 3.26-carat Australian opal sits at the heart of this ring, drawn from the Lambina field of South Australia, a region known for vivid play-of-color. Rather than cut to a standard shape, the stone keeps a natural freeform outline measuring 13 by 9mm, and its surface drifts through a living spectrum of color as the light shifts and your hand moves. Two small round diamonds sit alongside the center stone, adding a quiet sparkle.
The ring is crafted in solid 14-karat yellow gold, a warm frame for the opal’s fire, and it comes in US ring sizes 4.5 to 8.5. Richard Lewis shapes each piece by hand in his Santa Rosa studio, so no two are quite the same. Opal is soft, so wear it gently: steer clear of hard knocks and ultrasonic cleaners, and wipe it with a soft, damp cloth.
