This handcrafted ring centers on an 8.8mm round natural abalone pearl, its surface alive with the blues, greens and silvers these Pacific gems are known for. It was drawn from the cold waters off Mendocino, California. Abalone pearls are among the rarest of all natural pearls, and no two shimmer quite the same way. The pearl is set in sterling silver with accents of 14K yellow gold, pairing cool metal with a warm golden glint.
Richard Lewis makes each piece by hand, so this one is one of a kind. It comes in US ring sizes 6 to 10. Abalone is an organic pearl and softer than most gemstones, so a gentle routine keeps it at its best: keep it away from perfume, hairspray and household chemicals, leave it out of ultrasonic cleaners, and store it separately from harder stones so nothing dulls or scratches it.
